Little Pal

One night I was sitting on the deck, when I saw a cat in the distant shadows. At first I mistook her for my cat, Ripley. Then I saw that although her markings were similar, she wasn't quite as brown and her eyes were more green than golden. She also had a very bad limp. Little Pal was a stray that had been in a fight. We nursed her back to health, and she became a valued member of our household. She has been immortalized in a portrait, entitled Little Pal Gilbert , which was painted for a calendar by Lowell Herrero, the renowned artist I assisted for four years.
